Catchers U® x Baker's Baseball Pitchers & Catchers Summer Camp Led by Ernie Baker (Baker's Baseball) and Jack Ferrick (Catchers U®), the Youth Battery Summer Camp is an unique opportunity for pitchers and catchers to work together over 2 days to improve the players through personalized feedback, drills, and situational training. Meet Coach Jack Ferrick: - Co-Founder & CEO of Catchers U® - Over 18 years of experience in the Northern Virginia area - Graduate of Colonial Forge High School in Stafford, VA - Collegiate player at United States Naval Academy - Previously coached at Colonial Forge High School, Freedom (Woodbridge) High School, and Osbourn Park High School Meet Coach Ernie Baker: - Founder of Baker's Baseball - Over 35 years of experience in the Northern Virginia area - Played professionally for 4 years in the St. Louis Cardinals Organization - Scouted for the St. Louis Cardinals, Baltimore Orioles, and Kansas City Royals organizations - Previously coached at CD Hylton High School, Brooke Point High School, and Colonial Forge High School Dates: Monday, June 23 & Wednesday, June 25 Time: 12:00pm - 1:30pm Grades: 1st - 5th Gender: Boys & Girls (Baseball Players) Price: $175 per player *Space is limited to 16 players (8 pitchers and 8 catchers to ensure quality instruction) Location: Catchers U® | 6781 Kennedy Rd., Suite 7, Warrenton, VA 20187 Topics will include: Catchers (Led by Catchers U®): -Receiving, framing, and blocking fundamentals -Quick-release throwing mechanics and footwork -Game management, communication, and leadership behind the plate Pitchers (Led by Baker’s Baseball): -Proper pitching mechanical development -Command of pitches and development of off-speed offerings -Mental approach, mound presence, and fielding the position Combined Catcher-Pitcher Work (Led by Baker's Baseball & Catchers U®): -Bullpen sessions with live feedback and game-like reps -Catcher-pitcher communication and pitch sequencing -Building battery chemistry and in-game decision-making Equipment Needed: - Catchers will need gear including athletic shoes, helmet, glove, chest protector, and shin guards - Pitchers will need gear including athletic shoes and glove - Water bottle - Snack For questions, please contact catchersu@catchersu.com.
